FLY FISHING
The runoff from nearly 400 inches of snow each winter provides Jackson Hole with some of the best streams and rivers for spawning and growing trout. Snake River Fine-Spotted Cutthroat, Rainbow, and Brown Trout thrive in the cool waters.
Vigorous and hungry, they offer virtually every level of flycaster a satisfying experience. One of our concessions to progress is a new spring-fed pond with its very own Cutthroat population to help anglers build confidence and improve casting skills.
From there you can work your way to fishing the Hoback and Willow Creek here on the Ranch. Or, take a guided fishing trip on the Salt, Snake or Green River. A free casting lesson is offered on Monday afternoons.
OUR POND & OTHER WATERS
We have a one acre spring fed pond holding Snake River Cutthroats, a unique strain of cutthroat and the only native trout to Jackson Hole. A resident since the last ice age, this gem of a fish sports a golden bronze body stippled with black spots, all accented by a scarlet slash under each gill plate.
GUIDED FISHING TRIPS
Our resident instructor/guide is here to take you on a guided trip to any of THE SPOTTED HORSE’S permitted waters. Depending on the water, trips would entail hiking/wading, horse-packing, or drift boating. Half day and full day trips are available, depending on the water.
