 The SPOTTED HORSE RANCH is committed to providing you with the best fly-fishing experience possible. As part of that offering we have built and stocked an Orvis retail fly-shop on the premises for sales and rentals. We’ve focused the shop on the essentials - rods, reels, lines, flies, wading equipment, some clothing, and the paraphernalia needed to have a
successful day on the stream or pond.
INSTRUCTION:
As part of our commitment to your complete
fly-fishing experience, we have a resident instructor/guide, on premises. Fly-fishing is similar to golf and tennis, or any sport, in that it requires coordination, timing, and the skilled use of tools. Coaching and practice are essential, especially in the beginning. Instruction here focuses on the beginner and intermediate skilled. It can range from an impromptu two hour casting lesson, to a half day casting and fishing lesson on our pond or the Hoback River, to our three day Trout School that entails guided fishing trips. We will make every attempt to customize your instruction when possible. We use 3-6 weight rigs, depending on the water fished, the weather, and your skill level.
